What you do and what you get
All six events are free of charge and take place in public spaces. Since patch 0.1.6, participating in any town event also boosts your Para's skill learning speed.
Treasure Hunt
FreeHunt red chests around Old Town every Thursday.

What you do: Red chests spawn around Castle Plaza and across Old Town. Open one to loot it — no digging, unlike the buried collectible trunks.
What you get: A few random Build Mode items per chest. They are not collectibles, so they cannot be donated to the Museum — full mechanics below.
Weekend Market
FreeSunday stalls on Castle Plaza with rotating stock.

What you do: Stalls take over Castle Plaza selling decorative oddities, art and more, with rotating stock that rewards repeat visits. Premium Gym runs a stall with food and an exercise machine.
What you get: The Oddities Shop sells 2 random unique items per Sunday (full price list below), and the Premium Gym machine levels Fitness knowledge and the Exercise skill.
Outdoor Cinema
FreeA weekly open-air screening on Castle Plaza.

What you do: A large screen, mismatched chairs and a projector appear near the Town Hall & Library entrance. The popcorn machine standing nearby is decoration — it does not work.
What you get: A free movie night. It premiered once with its own headline and has recurred every Saturday since.
Astronomy Club
FreeStargazing with provided telescopes, three nights a week.

What you get: Observing grants a Science knowledge boost — and since patch 0.1.3, using a telescope also increases the astronomy skill.
Jogging Club

Thursday treasure hunt: how it actually works
The newspaper headline says to keep your eyes peeled around the Castle Plaza — but chests spawn well beyond the plaza lot. Here is what is confirmed, and what is still broken.
Red chests are not buried trunks
Hunt chests are red, in good condition, and sit in the open — completely different from the buried trunks you dig up for the artifacts collection. Each chest holds a few random Build Mode items, never collectibles, so treasure-hunt finds cannot be donated to the Museum. This is the most common misconception about the event.
Chests spawn across Old Town, not just the plaza
Documented finds include the corner in front of the High School, the end of a bridge, and in front of the Community Center — all outside the plaza's lot borders. Chests can also sit hidden under trees and are hard to spot from high camera angles, so drop the camera low and sweep the whole district.
The spawn bug is real — and unfixed
Players report chests failing to spawn or refusing interaction. A developer replied in June 2026 that “it's very possible that this is a bug”, and no patch through 0.1.6b mentions a fix. If your chest never appears, it is probably not your search pattern.
The golden chest is a different secret
The one-off golden chest at the end of the hidden-room route in the Town Hall & Library tower holds an exclusive collectible and is completely separate from the weekly hunt — the Melino places guide covers the tower route.
Event times
There are no official start or end times
No source — not the newspaper, not the wiki, not the patch notes — publishes start or end times for any town event. Anyone quoting exact hours is guessing. The best the community has is observation, labeled here as exactly that:
- Daytime events (yoga, market) seem to run from roughly 7–8 in the morning until dark — community estimate, unverified.
- The Astronomy Club runs from around sunset until about 23:00, when Paras pack up and head home — community estimate, unverified.
The newspaper confirms the day and the venue — never the hour. When in doubt, go early.

Every town event is announced in The New Paper, the in-game newspaper delivered with an on-screen notification. Event headlines carry a “Shows the place on the map” button that zooms straight to the venue, and past issues stay browsable in a dated list — so a missed morning does not mean a missed event.

How town events changed since launch
Town events shipped with Early Access on 2026-05-19. The event-related changes since:
- 0.1.2Fixed Paras continuing to use telescopes after an Astronomy Club event had ended and the telescopes had despawned.
- 0.1.3Using a telescope now increases the astronomy skill.
- 0.1.6Town Event Skill Bonus — Paras now learn skills faster while participating in town events.

What nobody has documented
Rather than guess, here is what no reliable source covers as of build 0.1.6b:
- The exact total number of implemented town events. More than the revealed set was confirmed for launch, but the precise count is unconfirmed — six is every event with a documented name and weekday.
- Official start and end times for any event (see above — every quoted time is a community estimate).
- How many chests spawn per treasure hunt. Community posts imply a single chest per Thursday; nothing official states it.
- A data-mined “weekly community gathering” on Saturdays at 23:00 exists in the game files, but no wiki page, screenshot or player report corroborates it as an attendable event — treat it as an unverified rumor, not a festival to plan around.
- How often The New Paper actually prints: the wiki says every morning, data mining says twice a week with five articles per issue. The two conflict and remain unresolved.
