Privacy Policy

TL;DR

Paralives.io is a free, unofficial fan companion site for the game Paralives. You don't need an account to use it. We don't sell your data, and we don't ask for personal information to view guides, cheats, the roadmap or any of the tools. Some guide pages may show third-party advertising to help cover hosting costs.

This page explains the small amount of data the site does touch, mostly so the interactive tools work and so we can tell whether a guide is actually being read.

Who runs this site

Paralives.io is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with Paralives Studio. Game data is sourced from paralives.wiki.gg under CC BY-SA 4.0 and from the official Paralives press kit. See the footer for full attribution.

What we collect

We deliberately keep this list short.

1. Anonymous traffic data. Page views, country, referrer, browser and device type. This is aggregated analytics — there is no login, so it cannot be tied to a person. It tells us which guides are useful and which are stale.
2. Cookies and local storage. Used to remember your locale (English / 中文), your light / dark theme preference, and the state of interactive tools (for example, the Money Builder remembers your last build so you don't lose it on refresh). These never leave your browser.
3. Advertising signals on ad-supported pages. We use Google AdSense to display ads on selected guide pages. Google, as a third-party advertising vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your browsing history. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Third-party ad vendors or ad networks may also use cookies, JavaScript, or web beacons to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements. We have no access to or control over cookies used by third-party advertisers.
4. Account information (only if you sign in). If the site ever offers an optional account — for saving custom challenges, bookmarks or comments — we will collect only what is strictly required: email address and a hashed password (or the identifier from a third-party login provider). Most visitors will never see this surface.
5. Server logs. Standard web server logs (IP address, timestamp, request path, user agent) are retained for a short period for security and abuse prevention, then deleted.

We do not collect: real names, addresses, phone numbers, payment information (the site does not sell anything), or any data about your Paralives save files.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent your data.
• We don't sell account or tool data to advertisers.
• We don't place third-party ad code on account, admin or settings pages.
• We don't use fingerprinting trackers.
• We don't read or upload your Paralives save files. Tools that simulate game commands run entirely in your browser.

Third-party services

The site uses a small number of vendors. Each is governed by its own privacy policy.

• Hosting and CDN for serving the site.
• Privacy-respecting analytics (aggregate-only, no cross-site tracking).
• Advertising partners — we use Google AdSense to serve ads on selected public guide pages. Google may use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) and web beacons to personalise ads based on your browsing history. You can learn more about how Google uses data at google.com/policies/privacy/partners. You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google Ads Settings or by visiting aboutads.info.
• Embedded media — Steam News, YouTube videos and Twitch clips load from those platforms when you view a page that includes them. They may set their own cookies.
• Optional sign-in providers (Google, GitHub, Discord) — used only if you choose to create an account.

Cookies

You can clear cookies and local storage from your browser at any time. Doing so will reset your locale preference, theme and any unsaved tool state.

Your rights

If you have created an account, you can:

• Export or delete your account data from your account settings.
• Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of your information.

Even without an account, you can ask us to remove any aggregated record we might hold that relates to you.

Children

Paralives is rated for general audiences and so is this site. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

When we change this policy in a way that affects what data we touch, we update the date at the top of this page and post a short note in the changelog.
