The short version
Double-click an object to reveal arrow handles and drag to resize or make it smaller. Click the three dots (or press *) to toggle the Advanced Transform Tool for free rotation, height and gridless placement. Hold Alt to disable snapping; use , . and X to rotate. Alt is also what lets furniture clip into walls and other objects — Paralives has no moveobjects cheat and doesn't need one.
How to Move and Resize Objects in Paralives
- 1
Resize or shrink an object
Single-click to select, then double-click the object in build mode to reveal arrow handles. Drag the side arrows for width, the top/bottom arrows for height, or the corner arrows to scale proportionally. There's no wall or room size limit — you can shrink an object down or make it huge. Click the blue checkmark to confirm.
- 2
Open the Advanced Transform Tool
Select an object, click the three dots next to the blue checkmark, and choose Toggle Advanced Transform Tool — or just press the * key (numpad). This unlocks free rotation on multiple axes, exact resting height, and sub-grid movement.
- 3
Place objects freely (gridless)
Paralives builds without a grid by default. Hold Alt while moving an object to disable snapping and place it anywhere, including on top of other objects to stack them. Press G to toggle the build grid if you want measurement snapping back.
- 4
Rotate objects
Use the rotation circle after selecting, hold the right mouse button and drag for free rotation, or use the keys: comma (,) and period (.) rotate 45°, and X rotates 90°. Click the rotation circle's center to reset.
- 5
Fix floating or stuck furniture
If an object floats or won't sit flush, open the Advanced Transform Tool and reset its resting height, or toggle the grid on to re-snap it to the floor. Deleting and replacing the object clears the occasional stuck-hitbox glitch.
Common object mistakes
Single-clicking to resize
Resize handles only appear after a double-click, not a single click. Select first, then double-click.
Forgetting the * shortcut
You don't have to dig through menus — press the * key on the numpad to toggle the Advanced Transform Tool instantly.
Expecting a cheat for resizing
Resize, rotate and free placement are built-in features. You only need a cheat (moveobjects) to clip furniture through walls and other objects.
Need the moveobjects cheat?
There is no moveobjects cheat in Paralives, and you don't need one. Free rotation, resizing and gridless placement are built into the Advanced Transform Tool, and holding Alt disables snapping so objects can clip into walls and each other. If you arrived here from The Sims,
bb.moveobjects
is a Sims 4 command — it does nothing in the Paralives console.
