How to build curved walls in Paralives

Curved walls are Paralives' signature build feature. No grid, no workarounds, no mods required. You draw an arc and the wall follows. This guide walks every step, from your first gentle bend to a full round tower, with precision tips that keep your curves clean.

The short version

Select the wall tool, click your start point, hold and drag to bend the arc, release to place. Shift constrains to clean arcs. The color picker works on curved sections the same as straight ones.

  • No grid snap on curves
  • Shift key constrains to even arcs
  • Colors and textures wrap seamlessly
  • Works with half-levels and foundations

How to Build Curved Walls in Paralives

  1. 1

    Open the wall tool

Enter build mode (B key), select the wall tool from the toolbar. You will see a straight-line preview following your cursor.

  2. 2

    Place the start anchor

Click once to set the starting point of your wall. The anchor snaps to existing walls or lot edges if you are close enough.

  3. 3

    Drag to bend the arc

Instead of clicking a second point, hold the mouse button and drag sideways. The wall preview bends into an arc. The further you drag from the straight line, the more pronounced the curve.

  4. 4

    Use Shift for clean geometry

Hold Shift while dragging to constrain the arc to mathematically even curves. This is essential for round towers and symmetrical facades. Without Shift, the arc follows your freehand movement.

  5. 5

    Release to commit

Let go of the mouse button to place the curved wall. The game renders the wall with full collision, paint slots, and window compatibility.

  6. 6

Close the shape for a round room

To build a complete round tower, place 3 to 4 curved wall segments end-to-end until the last endpoint snaps back to the first anchor. The game auto-closes the room and generates a ceiling.

  7. 7

    Apply color and texture

Select the curved wall, open the color picker. Paint wraps around the arc without seams. Interior and exterior surfaces are painted separately, so a curved bay window can have white outside and wood inside.

Common mistakes

These trip up most first-time curved wall builders.

Pitfall 1

Too-tight curves collapse

The engine has a minimum radius of about 0.5 meters. If your curve collapses into a spike, drag the arc wider. You will feel the snap when it crosses the threshold.

Pitfall 2

Windows not fitting curved sections

Only single-tile windows fit curved walls in EA 1.0. Double-width windows expect a flat surface. Place singles and space them evenly for a bay-window look.

Pitfall 3

Curved walls not connecting to straight walls

The endpoint of a curved wall must overlap the straight wall by at least a few pixels. Zoom in and nudge the end anchor until it snaps. You will see a green highlight when the connection registers.

Pitfall 4

Floor not filling inside a curved room

Make sure the curved walls fully enclose the space. If there is a gap of even a pixel, the floor will not generate. Use the room tool to manually assign the floor after closing all gaps.

What to build with curved walls

Four builds that look best with arcs.

Round tower
3 to 4 curved segments closing into a circle. Add a spiral staircase inside and a pointed roof on top for a fairy-tale turret.
Bay window bump-out
A single gentle arc on one wall of a rectangular room. Place three narrow windows inside the curve for a classic bay window.
Curved facade
Replace one straight exterior wall with a sweeping arc. Works especially well on commercial lots and Melino's Industrial district lofts.
Garden walls and paths
Low curved walls (half-height or fence mode) as garden borders. Pair with the terrain tool for organic landscaping.

Curved walls FAQ

paralives.curved_walls_page.faq_intro

How do you build curved walls in Paralives?
Select the wall tool, click a start point, hold and drag sideways to bend the arc, then release. Hold Shift while dragging for even, symmetrical curves.
Can you build a round room with curved walls?
Yes. Place three or four curved segments end-to-end until the last endpoint snaps to the first anchor. The game closes the room and generates a ceiling automatically.
Do curved walls snap to a grid?
No — curves are grid-free by design. Shift constrains the arc to clean geometry, but you draw freehand along the lot without tile snapping on the bend itself.
Can you put windows on curved walls?
Not directly on the arc in Early Access. Use a short straight wall segment across the chord inside the curve, place the window there, then reconnect the arc — see the windows & doors guide.
How do you make a bay window with curved walls?
Draw a gentle arc on one wall of a rectangular room and place three narrow single-tile windows inside the curve. Double-width windows expect a flat surface and usually will not fit the arc.
