Current build
Paralives is on 0.1.8
0.1.8 shipped on 24 August 2026. It adds an optional Classic camera (middle-click rotate, right-click pan), expands Build Mode and Paramaker menus, fixes TV/radio controls and several household or Paramaker bugs, and reduces stutters in animation loading, newspapers and camera occlusion. The studio says smaller patches will now be spaced farther apart while it builds the first major free update for late 2026; hotfixes will still ship as needed.
Reading the version numbers
0.1.x, 0.1.xb, and what counts as major
Paralives has used one numbering scheme since launch. The letter suffix is the part that confuses people, and it is also the part most changelogs quietly skip.
0.1.x — numbered patch
The regular update: bug fixes, quality-of-life changes, sometimes a reworked system. 0.1.6 rebuilt vacation days; 0.1.5 cut save files from roughly 500MB to 30MB. Each one gets full notes on the official news page.
0.1.xb — hotfix
A letter suffix means one urgent fix, shipped within days of the patch that caused it. 0.1.4b arrived the day after 0.1.4 because players could not see their save files at all.
Major updates
Bigger feature drops, tagged major below. Day 0 was the Early Access launch itself. The next one is scheduled for Q4 2026 with contents unannounced, and the studio has pledged that every update stays free — there is no paid DLC.
Release cadence
How often Paralives actually updates
- 14
- builds shipped since launch
- ~15 days
- average gap between numbered patches
- 1–6 days
- how fast hotfixes follow a patch
- None
- paid DLC planned
In the first thirteen weeks of Early Access the studio shipped fourteen builds: the launch build, seven numbered patches and six hotfixes. The six gaps between numbered patches were 8, 12, 14, 14, 25 and 14 days. Patch 0.1.8 explicitly says smaller patches will now be spaced farther apart while the team prioritizes optimization and the first major free expansion for late 2026; urgent hotfixes will still ship as needed.
September update
Is there a September 2026 update? Not announced
Patch 0.1.8 arrived on 24 August 2026, so the earlier cadence estimate has been resolved. As of 25 August, no separate September build or date has been announced. The studio has never published a fixed patch calendar.
The 0.1.8 notes say smaller patches will now be spaced farther apart while the team works on its first major free expansion for late 2026. Hotfixes can still arrive when important issues are solved, but the next dated milestone remains the year-end update on the official roadmap.

Patch notes FAQ
- What is the latest version of Paralives?
- 0.1.8 shipped on 24 August 2026. The studio says smaller patches will now be spaced farther apart while it builds the first major free update for late 2026; hotfixes will still ship as needed.

- When is the next big Paralives update?
- The official roadmap schedules the first major update for Q4 2026 and has not announced what it contains. June through September was set aside for fixes, performance and adjustments to existing features.
- Will Paralives have paid DLC?
- No. The studio commits on its Steam page to free updates throughout Early Access, with no paid DLC.
- Why aren't pets, weather or pools in the patch notes yet?
- They are promised during Early Access but none of them has a date. Pets, weather and seasons, pools, cars, gardening and fishing are all listed as planned rather than scheduled.
- Do Paralives patches break mods?
- They can. 0.1.3b existed purely to fix a "Reimporting assets" freeze that hit players with mods installed, and 0.1.4 added Workshop tags that required creators to re-tag their uploads in game. After any patch, turning mods off is the first troubleshooting step.
- Was there a Paralives update in August 2026?
- Yes. Patch 0.1.7 shipped on 10 August 2026, with hotfix 0.1.7b the same day. It is a quality-of-life patch: redesigned Parababies, fridge food storage, drinkable coffee, hugs for friends and family, street addresses, assigned beds and a lifespan rebalance to 112 days on average.
- Is there a Paralives September 2026 update?
