Fixes

Known issues the studio has confirmed

A running tracker of every bug officially acknowledged in the patch notes and still open in the current build — with the official workarounds where they exist, and an honest “unknown” where the studio went quiet.

Quick answer

What is still broken in 0.1.6b

As of EA 0.1.6b (checked 2026-08-02), the studio officially acknowledges 7 open issues, led by in-game time gradually slowing down after roughly 70 in-game days — the official workaround is the Storyteller setting Minutes Per Real-Life Seconds (default 0.66). Two more issues have official workarounds, two are being mitigated patch by patch, and the rest are listed below with their exact status.

Open

Confirmed and not yet fixed

Acknowledged in the official patch notes and still present in the current build.

In-game time slows down after ~70 in-game days

The longer a save runs, the slower game time passes relative to real time. The studio is working on a fix; the official workaround until then is to adjust time per minute in the Storyteller settings — the panel row Minutes Per Real-Life Seconds, default 0.66. The studio has not said which direction to adjust it, so change it in small steps and watch the result.

Kissing your own partner triggers jealousy

Paras can react with jealousy when their own partner kisses them. Acknowledged in 0.1.5; the 0.1.6 notes do not mention a fix.

Cannot create new swatches

Some players cannot create a new swatch for clothing or objects. Acknowledged in 0.1.5; not mentioned in 0.1.6.

Canvas disappears when painting

The canvas can vanish when a Para starts or finishes a painting. Acknowledged in 0.1.5; not mentioned in 0.1.6.

External mods can hide every mod

An external mod or plugin can cause all mods — including Workshop ones — to become invisible in the Mods menu and in game. Removing the external files restores them; the mod-troubleshooting guide has the studio's disable-and-bisect procedure.

Advanced-widget items lose their position on reload

Objects moved or rotated with the advanced transform widget may not stay where you put them after reloading the save. The studio has acknowledged this and explicitly said there is no timeline for a fix.

Lag spikes in live mode

Live mode can stutter, especially on longer sessions. In the studio's own words, optimization work continues “over the coming months” to reduce lag spikes.

Workaround

Open, with an official workaround

Still broken, but the studio has published a way around each one.

Paras stuck on scenery

A Para can get wedged on furniture or terrain. Official workaround: open the ESC menu and use the Unstuck button.

Fires spiral out of control

Fires spread far more aggressively than most players expect, though 0.1.2 already improved the balance significantly. If a fire gets away from you, the cheat ExtinguishAllFires puts out every fire on the lot.

Crashes and freezes

Crash and freeze reports have dropped with every patch since 0.1.2, but they still occur. The studio reminds players to check their system against the minimum requirements; our crash guide walks through the remaining causes.

Rare corrupted saves stuck on the loading screen

A small number of saves become unloadable. Since 0.1.5 the game writes 30MB saves with three autosaves and Steam Cloud sync, and the studio published an official repair walkthrough — our backup guide covers both prevention and the repair steps.

Unknown

Acknowledged once, never mentioned again

The studio confirmed these once and the patch logs went silent. We cannot verify whether they persist, so they are neither counted as open nor called fixed.

Parafolk thumbnails not updating

Para portraits do not always reflect appearance changes. Acknowledged in 0.1.2 and never mentioned again — current status unreadable.

Mac trackpad click and camera rotation issues

Some Mac players had trouble clicking and rotating the camera; the official advice was to use a mouse instead of the trackpad. Not mentioned again after 0.1.2 — current status unreadable.

Resolved

Officially closed

Kept for reference — these hit players hard at the time, and the fix steps still matter for old saves.

Mac saves from June 25–26 would not open (one-off)

A one-time event: Mac saves created on 2026-06-25 and 2026-06-26 failed to open. The official fix, posted 2026-07-07, is to delete the ~/Library/Application Support/Paralives/Paralives/ folder — new saves then migrate from MySavedGames.mod into com.Paralives.Paralives/.

How this list is built — and what “unknown” means

There is no official text list of known issues to copy from, so this tracker is a reconstruction. That has consequences worth stating plainly:

  • The studio's three standalone Known Issues posts are images with no text body — nothing in them is machine-readable, so this list is recovered from the Known Issues sections of the numbered patch notes instead.
  • An issue that disappears from the patch logs is NOT the same as an issue that was fixed. Unless the notes say “fixed”, we mark it “unknown” — acknowledged once, status unreadable since.
  • Dates are the first official acknowledgment we could trace, not necessarily the first player report.
  • This page tracks officially acknowledged issues only. Community-reported bugs with no official mention belong on Reddit or the Discord, not here.

Found a bug that is not listed?

This tracker only covers issues the studio has officially acknowledged. The fastest way to get a new bug on the official radar is the Paralives Discord bug-report channel; for anything crash- or save-related, our fix guides may already have your workaround.

FAQ

What is the most serious known issue right now?
The time-slowdown bug: after roughly 70 in-game days, game time gradually passes slower than it should. It affects long-running saves and has no patch yet — the official workaround is adjusting Minutes Per Real-Life Seconds (default 0.66) in the Storyteller settings.
Where is the official known-issues list?
The studio has published three standalone Known Issues posts, but their content is an image, not text — so there is no official list you can search. The per-patch notes each carry a Known Issues section; this page reconstructs the running list from those.
An issue disappeared from the patch notes — is it fixed?
Not necessarily. Unless the notes explicitly say “fixed”, silence only means the studio stopped mentioning it. We mark those “unknown” rather than guess.
Does 0.1.6b fix the time-slowdown bug?
No. The 0.1.6b hotfix does not mention it; the studio says a fix is in progress and points players to the Storyteller time-per-minute setting in the meantime.
