How to level Programming
Queue 'Code on Computer' from level 4. Before that, grind with 'Browse the Web' and 'Take Online Course' — these give 60% the XP of coding but require no skill check. From level 4, 'Build a Mobile App' is the highest XP-per-hour interaction in the entire game. Apps you build go into your inventory and pay royalties for ~7 in-game days. Royalties stack — by level 10, a typical household runs §200-§800/day passive from previously-built apps.

What you unlock at every tier
Skills cap at level 20. Highlights below mirror the Skin-system progression players reported during the first EA week. Treat them as expected rewards, not hard guarantees — patch 0.1.x may rebalance.
- Levels 1-4
Browse the Web. Low XP, zero income.
- Level 5
Unlock 'Build a Mobile App'. Royalties begin (§200-§800/day for 7 days per app).
- Level 10
Unlock 'Hack' interaction (off-limits in some careers). Software Development promotion check.
- Level 15
'Open-Source Project' unlocks. Permanent Mood +1 and unlocks the 'Indie Studio' goal chain.
- Level 20
'Senior Engineer' capstone. Builds 'Enterprise App' (royalties last 30 days, §1,500/day).

Common mistakes
Three pitfalls that stall this skill
Coding without an app under construction
Always have an 'app in progress' queued. Free coding gives 50% XP. App-coding gives 100% plus royalty payout on completion.
Selling apps too early
Wait until level 5 before publishing. Earlier publishes pay 30% of full royalty.
Forgetting the Hack consequences
From level 10 the Hack interaction is available, but specific careers (Education, Healthcare) trigger a strike if caught. Use only on freelance Paras.
