The short version
{count} paintings, all real artworks
Paralives ships 41 paintings and each one references a genuine artwork — Vermeer, Klimt, Hokusai, Hopper. They come out of buried trunks, never off the ground. 10 of them are Rares worth $800 apiece, which makes this the most lucrative set to sell.

Two notes on sourcing. Where our artist column differs from the wiki's, the notes column says so. And the wiki's file category lists only 40 paintings because one entry, The Japanese Footbridge, has a broken image link there — the entry itself is real, and the article's own totals only add up with 41.

Where paintings come from
Paintings never appear in the open. They sit inside buried trunks, which a Para has to dig up first — the same source as artefacts.
- Buried trunks are weathered and half-hidden. They are not the red chests that appear during the Thursday treasure hunt, which hold Build Mode furniture instead.
- A painting can be hung as décor, sold for Paradimes, or donated to the museum's Arts & History exhibition.
- Four of the Community Center's Art bundles ask for paintings, so it is worth keeping duplicates rather than donating everything.
- Headlines in The New Paper occasionally set a Life Goal around finding or donating a specific piece.
We could not verify how often buried trunks respawn, whether their contents are weighted by district, or whether a painting's rarity changes the odds of it appearing. This page does not guess at any of those.
Paintings FAQ
- How many paintings are in Paralives?
- Forty-one, each referencing a real artwork. The wiki's file category lists only 40 because one entry, The Japanese Footbridge, has a broken image link there.
- What is the most valuable painting in Paralives?
- Ten tie at the top on $800: Mending the Sail, The Kiss, A Sunday on La Grande Jatte, Liberty Leading the People, The Japanese Footbridge, Wanderer above the Sea of Fog, Ophelia, Girl with a Pearl Earring, The Great Wave off Kanagawa and the Mona Lisa.
- Where do you find paintings in Paralives?
- Inside buried trunks around Melino, which a Para digs up. They never appear in the open the way gemstones and mushrooms do.
- Are the Paralives paintings real artworks?
- Yes. Every one references an existing painting or print, which is why the list reads like a museum catalogue.
- Should I donate paintings or sell them?
- Sell them. The museum reward track counts pieces donated rather than their value, so an $80 common advances it as far as an $800 rare. Keep one of each if you want the exhibition full, and hold a few back for the Community Center's Art bundles.
