Black Widow

The Black Widow seduces, marries, inherits, and moves on. The Sims 4 version leans on dinner parties, ghosts you keep in the house, and creative spouse deaths. Paralives Early Access changes the bones: there are no gravestones or ghosts (Paras simply vanish when they die), inheritance isn't its own system, and marriage runs through the Propose card and an Elope. This page rewrites the gold-digger run so it actually works in EA, using the five real death types, the elope flow and the way a spouse's funds merge into your household the moment they move in.

TL;DR, the widow run in one paragraph

One Para never works a day. They romance a single Para to Lovers, land the Propose card, Elope (EA has no wedding ceremony), and move the spouse in so their funds merge into the household, the EA form of inheriting. Then the spouse dies, by old age if you marry elders, or by circumstance, and the widow marries the next one. There are no ghosts to collect in EA, so log each spouse in the tracker. Outlive five to finish.

  • The widow never holds a job
  • Marry single Paras, move them in so funds merge
  • Each spouse must die before the next marriage
  • Outlive and inherit from five spouses to win

The six core rules

Rewritten for what Paralives Early Access actually ships. Where Sims 4 used ghosts, dinner parties and Simoleon inheritance, this run uses EA's death types, the elope flow and merged household funds.

  1. 1

    Create the widow

Start with one Young Adult Para. Lean charismatic and romantic, the EA traits closest to the Sims 4 Materialistic, Snob, Romantic build. The Overjoyed vibe helps, because proposal success in Paralives depends partly on vibe, charisma and mood. This Para is the only one who survives the whole run.

  2. 2

    No job, ever

The widow never holds a career. Every Paradime comes from spouses' funds merging into the household when they move in. Between marriages, the widow may earn a little by selling crafts or collectibles, faithful to the original, but never by working a career.

  3. 3

    Marry single Paras only

Target Paras who live alone, never break up an existing couple. Build the relationship to the Lovers label, land the pink Propose card (its success percentage rises with relationship, mood, charisma and vibe), then use Discuss Relationship and the Elope Together card to actually marry, since EA has no wedding ceremony. Move each spouse in so their funds merge.

  4. 4

One spouse at a time, each must die

Only one living spouse at a time. Each must die before the widow marries again. The cleanest path is marrying older or Elder Paras, who die of old age on their own. EA also ships starvation, fire, fatigue and poisoning deaths if you engineer the circumstance. Note that preteens-and-under and pregnant Paras are immune to death.

  5. 5

    No repairs, only replacements

The widow never repairs a broken object, she replaces it with money, faithful to the original. This quietly drains the inherited funds and is the rule that turns an easy money run into a real challenge. Re-buying a broken stove out of a dead spouse's fortune is the whole aesthetic.

  6. 6

    No money cheats, one save

All wealth must come from marriage. SETMONEY, PRINTMONEY, MAKEITRAIN, JACKPOT, PIGGYBANK and LOTTERY are banned for the entire run. Single save file, no reloading a failed proposal or an inconvenient survival. EDITCHARACTER is allowed only to fix visual clipping.

Spouse ladder

From spouse one to spouse five

The run is one loop repeated five times. These checkpoints flag where the difficulty shifts and what to optimise as the bodies pile up.

Spouse 1: learn the loop

The first marriage teaches the rhythm: romance to Lovers, land the Propose card, Elope Together, move them in so their funds merge. Pick an easy target to learn how proposal odds respond to charisma, mood and vibe before the stakes rise.

Spouse 2: chase the wealth

Now target funds. A spouse from a high-paying career brings a bigger balance into the household when they move in. Management and Science top out around $2,850 a day, so a mid-career Para in either is a far richer mark than a Service worker.

Spouse 3: the elder shortcut

Marry an Elder. Old age is the only death that needs no engineering, the Para simply reaches the end of their lifestage bar and passes. An elder with a full bank account is the cleanest widow target in the game.

Spouse 4: manage the drain

By now the no-repair rule bites. Every broken object is a re-buy out of your inheritance, so a sprawling mansion quietly bleeds funds. Keep the home tight, replace only what breaks, and bank the rest before the next marriage.

Spouse 5: the final inheritance

Outlive and inherit from the fifth spouse to complete the run. The household balance is your scoreboard, the bigger it is after five marriages, the cleaner the widow. Some players push on to ten for a legendary run.

Strategy

How to run a clean widow

The challenge is romance logistics plus money discipline. These four moves carry most runs.

Build Charisma and Cooking

Charisma raises proposal success and speeds every romance; Cooking lets the widow host and impress without spending. They are the two skills the original challenge centers on, and both pay off in EA's relationship system.

Lean on the Overjoyed vibe

Proposal success in Paralives factors in vibe. Going into the Propose card while Overjoyed lifts the percentage, so line up a mood boost before popping the question to avoid a wasted, relationship-denting rejection.

Marry old for clean deaths

Older and Elder Paras die of old age without any engineering, which keeps the run tasteful and simple. Target marks who are already near the end of their lifestage bar so the widow inherits sooner.

Keep the home small

The no-repair rule punishes big builds, every broken object is a fresh purchase. A modest, well-furnished home protects the inheritance far better than a mansion full of things waiting to break.

Fail conditions (when the run is over)

All three are self-inflicted. The widow challenge is really a test of discipline.

Stop 1

The widow takes a job or uses a money cheat

Working a career or running any money command voids the run, all wealth must come from marriage. Selling crafts between spouses is the only earned income allowed. Hard fail.

Stop 2

Two spouses alive at once

The widow may only be married to one living Para at a time, and may only marry singles. The current spouse must die before the next romance becomes a marriage. Overlapping marriages void the run.

Stop 3

Save-scumming a death or a rejection

Reloading to undo a failed proposal, an inconvenient survival or a death that hit the wrong Para breaks the single-save rule. Live with the outcome.

EA compatibility notes

How the gold-digger classic maps onto Paralives Early Access.

  • EA ships five death types, starvation, fire, old age, poisoning and fatigue; old age is the cleanest for a widow run.
  • There are no gravestones or ghosts in EA, Paras vanish when they die, so the original 'keep the ghosts in the house' goal becomes logging each spouse in the tracker.
  • Inheritance isn't a separate system yet; a spouse's funds merge into the household the moment they move in, which is the EA form of inheriting their wealth.
  • Preteens-and-under and pregnant Paras are immune to death, so you can only widow teens-and-older who aren't pregnant.
  • There is no wedding ceremony in EA; engage via the Propose card, then choose Elope Together under Discuss Relationship to marry.

Black Widow FAQ

The six questions players ask most about running a Black Widow in Paralives.

What is the Black Widow challenge?
A gold-digger run where one Para marries a series of spouses, inherits their wealth, and outlives each one before marrying again. The Sims 4 goal is five or ten deceased spouses; this Paralives version targets five.
Can you actually kill Paras in Paralives Early Access?
Yes. EA ships five death types: starvation, fire, old age, poisoning and fatigue. Old age is the simplest and most tasteful for a widow run. There are no ghosts or gravestones yet, so a dead Para simply vanishes.
How does inheriting a spouse's money work in EA?
There is no separate inheritance system. When a spouse moves in, their funds merge into your household balance, so the 'inheritance' really happens at move-in. After they die, that merged money stays with the widow.
What is the cleanest way to widow a spouse?
Marry older or Elder Paras. Old age needs no engineering, the Para reaches the end of their lifestage bar and passes on their own. It keeps the run simple and avoids fiddling with fire or starvation setups.
Can the Black Widow have a job?
No. The whole point is living off spouses. The widow may sell crafts or collectibles between marriages, but never holds a career, that's an instant fail.
How many spouses do I need to complete it?
Five for a standard run. Some players push to ten for a legendary version. Either way, each spouse must move in, die, and be logged before the next marriage counts.
