The short version
No livestock, no crops — but a farm lot is still buildable: the cow statue anchors a barn of stalls, and a gardening mod makes the vegetable beds real.
- No corner roof pieces in Early Access — compose each corner from parts
- No barn doors or hay: shutters frame the doorway, yellow flowers feed the stalls
- The cow statue and duck decoys are decorative — real animals aren't in the game (0.1.8b)
- Fenced paddock, stone-edged pond and trellis beds sell the farm from the road
- Growable, harvestable crops need a gardening mod (linked by the creator)
- Official Gardening: promised for Early Access; livestock: after
Steps 1–3
The farmhouse shell
A compact white farmhouse carries the style: composed roof corners, a wrap-around porch, and one standout interior detail.
- 1
Compose the roof corner by corner
Early Access has no corner roof pieces, so each of the farmhouse's four roof corners is several pieces worked together — the creator rebuilt hers more than once. Accept that the shape is approximate; the trim hides most of the seams.

Wrap the lot in a porch
A wrap-around porch sells the farmhouse look: pillar pieces at the steps, railing the rest of the way. The creator left the tops free for potted plants, which matters later when the garden spread reaches the house.

Build window seating into the kitchen
Inside, the one detail the creator says screams farmhouse is window seating: a bench fitted into the kitchen's corner windows with built-in shelving wrapped around it. Small built-ins read far better than loose furniture in small rooms.

Steps 4–7
Barn, stalls and the cattle workaround
There are no cows in Paralives — but there is a cow statue, and this barn is built around it.
- 4
Raise the barn and fake its door
The barn is simple walls under a gambrel-style roof with arched window pieces above the entrance. There is no barn-door item in the game, so the creator framed the doorway with repurposed shutters — which conveniently leaves the interior visible.

Split the interior into stalls
Partition walls divide the barn into cattle stalls, each with a feeding box along the wall. The dividers are regular wall pieces set low, so the space still reads as one barn from the door.

Furnish stalls with the cow statue and fake hay
Here's the honest part: Paralives has no farm animals. The whole build started from the in-game cow statue — one per stall — and since there is no hay item either, yellow flowers stand in for feed. The creator's verdict: it works, from a distance.

Fence a paddock so the herd can graze
A fenced run beside the barn gives the cows somewhere to be outdoors, dressed with hay-bale props and a dirt patch. It is set dressing — the statues don't need feeding — but it is what makes the lot read as a working farm from the road.

Steps 8–11
Pond, garden and the finished tour
The pieces that turn a house-and-barn into a homestead: water, fenced beds, and crops that actually grow.
- 8
Edge a pond in stone and add ducks
A stone-edged pond with duck decoys becomes the farm's water feature — the creator jokes that with no chickens on the lot, the ducks' eggs are the farm's second product. Rotating the decoys with the advanced tool keeps them looking natural.

Lay out fenced vegetable beds with trellises
Tilled-soil beds in a fenced enclosure, each with a trellis piece for climbers — the Garden category's trellis is what makes a dirt patch read as a vegetable garden even before anything is planted.

Plant and harvest with a gardening mod
Vanilla Paralives cannot grow crops — Gardening is only promised for Early Access. The creator uses a gardening mod from her video description that adds plantable seeds and a harvesting interaction; the video shows basil maturing within days and a Gardening skill notification that comes from the mod, not the base game.

Tour the finished homestead at golden hour
The finished lot: white farmhouse with its wrap-around porch, the truck (purple metal detailing — the one colour the game won't let you change), barn with stalls, grazing paddock, duck pond and fenced gardens. Everything in the shot is achievable in-game, the crops via that one mod.

What's real, what's modded, what's someday
Real in 0.1.8b: the cow statue, duck decoys, hay-bale props, fences, trellises, tilled-soil terrain paint, and every wall and roof piece in this build. Nothing in the house or barn needs a mod.
Modded: the plantable, harvestable crops and the Gardening skill notification come from the creator's gardening mod, linked in her video description. Install it like any Workshop mod, and remember official Gardening is still only promised for Early Access.
Someday: the roadmap lists Gardening and fishing among features to be added during Early Access, with full farming — crops at scale, livestock — beyond that. When animals arrive, the barn stalls in this build are already waiting for them.
FAQ
- Can you have farm animals in Paralives?
- No — as of 0.1.8b there is no livestock. The cows in this build are the in-game cow statue item and the ducks are decoys. The roadmap places Gardening and fishing during Early Access and full farming — crops at scale and livestock — beyond it.
- Can you grow and harvest crops in Paralives?
- Not in the vanilla game. The growing, harvestable vegetables in this build come from a gardening mod linked in the source video's description; it adds seeds, growth stages and a harvesting interaction. Official Gardening is on the roadmap for Early Access.
- How do you make a barn door in Paralives?
- There is no barn-door item. The standard trick, used in this build, is framing the doorway with repurposed shutters or fencing left open — it reads as a barn door and keeps the interior visible.
- Is there hay in Paralives?
- No hay item exists yet. The build substitutes yellow flowers in the feeding boxes and hay-bale props around the paddock — close enough that screenshots read as a working farm.
- Where do I get the gardening mod?
- From the source video's description — the creator links the exact version she used, and our workshop guide covers installing Workshop mods safely. As always with script mods, re-check them after game patches.
- How is this different from the farmhouse build guide?
- Intent. Our farmhouse guide is a style build — a country house with a wraparound porch and picket fences. This page builds the working lot around the house: barn, stalls, paddock, pond and a productive garden.
